Minimum Wage
South Africa's National Minimum Wage (NMW) is expected to rise again in 2026, following the National Minimum Wage Commission's recommendation of CPI plus 1.5% and the government has formally opened the proposal for public comment. The current rate is R28.79 and the projected rate is R30.23 per hour (based on estimated CPI) and normally come into effect on March 1st each year.
